Diane Von Furstenberg

Born in Brussels, Belgium, 1946. Perhaps most famous for gifting us the universally flattering wrap dress, to be showcased by Diana Vreeland in American Vogue. She opened a showroom on Seventh Avenue in 1972. Despite no formal training, she moved in aristocratic circles and her intuitive understanding of people, occasions and social situations informed her creativity. “I dreamt about love, passion, seduction and a bohemian life.”
